For people using #bleach to treat their #water. I did this for a long time. The recommended amount is eight drops per gallon. You can successfully achieve this by pouring a little bleach in the cap and then pouring the smallest amount out you can. One quarter cap is more than plenty.
Stir and wait 30 minutes.

in reply to MadeInDex • • •I did what I called homesteading and for two years I didn't have running water but had to attain it and store it. I used bleach and a carbon filter and never had a problem. I am currently treating my water as we are under a boil notice.

in reply to MadeInDex • • •It's frustratingly common here. When a water system fails and has possible infiltration of non-hygienic mud water, you get water out of the tap but you got to boil it or treat it.
