TBF, they do start out by going to Father Beck first who basically says it was wrong and was "disingenuous" about its meaning.

Also, here in the US, it's become increasingly normalized for us to wake up and hear A, B, and C happened overnight but (whew!) he hasn't nuked anybody yet. Not an excuse! But just sayin'.. It's difficult in this bubble here.

I can only hope that, when DJT does actually kick the bucket, that it happens on live TV so we'll all believe it.

If he gives the order to launch a nuclear weapon, that military officer is in for a rough day.
And the media will then debate whether this is some kind of genius move in the game of 3D chess that will lead to world peace. Or whether he has no idea what a nuclear weapon even is.

The firecracker comment says it all! I am an old guy. I have never ever seen or heard the like of the shit currently spewing out of the WhiteHouse. That and the republican serfs in their political fields harvesting the benefits of the workers now facing a war/depression that will make the 1930s look like a Spring Vacation.

There is one scenario where Trump could not have realized what was being posted: he tells an aide to post a picture of him as a doctor "healing the sick." This goes into a LLM-based image generator which maps the phrase into a biblical reference and results in that image. The aide of course, being bored to tears, handled it in "fire and forget" mode, so no one noticed until it went public. Meanwhile none of them will admit to a mistake: trusting AI that is really "Artificial Stupidity".
