Some positive news for #Holos: the relay now automatically generates SSL certificates for custom domains verified via CNAME, with a job running every 5 minutes to issue and renew them.
This means true ownership of your Fediverse identity: your domain, your name, fully working through ActivityPub. No other server needed, just your phone.

It has been submitted to F-Droid, but the process is quite complex, our builds take at least 3 hours, which makes things slower on their end.

Regarding battery, yes it's been optimized for that. But running its own server has other side effects, like app size.

the size is not an issue for me, but i was affraid to see my battery disapear like ice in the sun xD

No worries, that was actually the main challenge! Providing a stable identity while keeping battery in check. Battery drain is the same as a small app, it pauses everything once in the background. And when your device is offline, everything just stops. That was a deliberate choice.
