A quick question for #Fedilab users: would you find it useful if I used milestones on #Codeberg? The idea is to group issues by upcoming release, so you can see what is planned for the next version, what is being worked on, and when it should be ready. Your feedback will help me decide if it is worth setting them up.

  • Yes, I would check the milestones (38%, 51 votes)
  • No, I would not look at them (23%, 32 votes)
  • No opinion (38%, 51 votes)

It would be nice to have, but only if it doesn't take too much of your time or flexibility. I could imagine that it's more fun to be able to work on an issue that you want to work on at the moment, not necessary the issue that accomplishes the next milestone. :neocat_thinking:

Honestly, I think it would mostly add visibility, since most of the work comes from how you order and link the issues yourself. That's how old ones get fixed.
Of course, you would still be able to add issues to a milestone, on top of the amazing work you're already doing on Codeberg. But if you feel it wouldn't fit your current workflow, I won't push further without your input.

I'm totally fine with it. I love organizing and sorting stuff. That's why I like to play simulators. It's calming for me. :neocat_laugh_sweat:

Maybe in a previous life I'd have an opinion, but these days I don't care one bit about how you make the sausage.

What I'm wondering is how much of your time and attention this will require and if any of it will actually help you in your endeavors.
I do believe your work is one of the best out there and sometimes worry you might suffer burnout. So whatever you finally decide regarding this or anything else please take care. 🫶

Thank you for the kind words and for the concern. My first intention was to give more visibility on what will be fixed or improved. But you are right, keeping things simple avoids pressure. Milestones could have side effects on my current work if I get too focused on them.

I read your concerns and I deeply appreciate them. The goal was only to give more visibility on what is being fixed and improved. Things are working well as they are, and some of you warned me about side effects. If I ever start to feel uncomfortable with milestones, from pressure or anything else, I can always tell you and stop. What we all want is to make Fedilab better.
