It seems starter packs are gaining traction across the #Fediverse. #Fedilab and #Holos will support them as soon as they are available.

A quick question for #Fedilab users: would you find it useful if I used milestones on #Codeberg? The idea is to group issues by upcoming release, so you can see what is planned for the next version, what is being worked on, and when it should be ready. Your feedback will help me decide if it is worth setting them up.

  • Yes, I would check the milestones (38%, 51 votes)
  • No, I would not look at them (23%, 32 votes)
  • No opinion (38%, 51 votes)
134 voters. Poll end: in 4 weeks

To #Codeberg users of #Fedilab, once authenticated this link shows the issues you opened yourself. Could you have a look and check if some can be closed? Thank you.

#Fedilab 3.40.2 is available. It's mainly a bug fix release, with one small addition: a warning for expired scheduled boosts at startup.

Holos builds are available. Time to get back to #Fedilab issues.

The fundraiser for a new computer is still ongoing.

This machine is what keeps #HolosSocial, #Fedilab, #Castlab and #Fediplan moving forward on Android, iOS, and soon #Holos on macOS, Windows and Linux, from a single codebase. The current setup is reaching its limits.

Every contribution helps, and sharing helps too :). Thank you.

Change of plans for this week, and I apologise for moving things around. I was supposed to get back to #Fedilab mid week for the 3.40.2 release, but I will postpone it. I am very focused on #HolosSocial at the moment, and stopping now to come back a few days later would cost too much in context switching, both in time and in concentration. Fedilab 3.40.2 will follow right after the next #Holos milestone (end of the week). (1/5)

#Fedilab 3.40.1 is available!

This release integrates #OfflineTranslator as an external app that allows you to translate content offline if you have this app installed. You can also now choose to place the compose button at the top when using reverse mode.
The release also brings several fixes.

Concerning #Fedilab, with close to 8 million messages indexed, I think #HolosDiscover now has enough content to be worth integrating.
Full API support would allow pinning tailored timelines and interacting with new content. This would be particularly useful for small instances.

#Fedilab now has pull up to refresh when the timeline is in the correct (i.e. reverse order). Nice!

#Fedilab 3.40.0 is available.

What's new:
- Allow bookmarks to be pinned as timeline tab
- Add custom emoji independent size setting with tap to preview
- Add emoji autocomplete in CW and poll fields
- Add reverse sort order for bookmarks and favourites
- Auto-hide bubble timeline when instance doesn't support it

Several enhancements and fixes. See the full release notes: codeberg.org/tom79/Fedilab/rel…

A short description of the "Remote profiles" and the "Remote conversations" settings | #Fedilab #FedilabTips

Following the recommendations I got, I set up a #NodeBB forum to discuss the projects #Fedilab, #Holos, #CastLab and #Fedle.

Each category federates over #ActivityPub, so you can follow it directly from your Fediverse account: @fedilab, @holos, @castlab, @fedle.

Next week I will work on #Fedilab fixes and enhancements.

Just a reminder, please report your issues (bug reports/suggestions) on the repo: codeberg.org/tom79/Fedilab/iss…

It's also the best place to check whether a similar ticket already exists that you could bump.
When working on issues, I filter by new tickets and recently updated ones.

Just for information, if you have a #DeepL API key, you can perfectly use it with #Fedilab. Just search for "DeepL" in the settings. A single tap lets you customize the settings.

Now #Fedilab and #HolosSocial use "web+ap://" to open messages or profiles inside the app, like Conversations does (github.com/tuskyapp/Tusky/issu…).

#HolosDiscover now has a dedicated button to open messages in apps supporting it.

#Fedilab 3.39.0 is available.

What's new:
- Reorganized settings with categories and search
- Option to refresh all timelines at once on pull-to-refresh (default disabled)
- Support for custom poll durations based on instance
- Support for web+ap:// and web+activitypub:// protocols
- Quotes now open inside the app instead of the browser (remote)
It also brings several fixes, including a fix for #Pixelfed login failure.

Settings in #Fedilab have been reworked to improve the UX.

A search feature is now available to filter them. The settings are also organized into clearer categories, and the matching item is highlighted when you tap it.

To translators, this feature introduces many new keywords used for filtering. Thank you for your contribution.
