Its a classic collective action problem... across the UK potholes ion thread are getting worse, at least in part due to the continued rise of ever bigger & heavier SUV's.... but one of the reasons people are buying these SUVs is because of the conditions of the roads.

Of course, its exactly this sort of collective action problem that the state is supposed to resolve... but there seems little hope of that.
