TIL that a chimpanzee named Santino at a Swedish zoo gathered stones each morning to throw at visitors later in the day. It is the first documented case of a non-human planning for future events.

Today you also learned that said zoo killed Santino when he and his fellow chimpanzees broke out through their winter enclosure, due to an error made by a coworker. Several of the chimpanzees were shot and killed (one hurt, one or two were unharmed).
