#Apple is great but also terrible at design

I wanted to change the size of my mouse:

There is a "Mouse" option where it's not. There is a "Mouse" option under "Accessibility" where it's not.

It's in "Accessibility -> Display"

I don't want to admit how many meetings I've missed at work because it turned out that between Google calendar and the feature that pops up a f****** notification in the UI was both my Chrome browser...

... And a feature in the operating system itself where different applications can be granted access to that API, a feature that was clearly added at some point that I didn't notice, and they had gotten switched off for Chrome and Chrome 's servant process, which is a different app for some reason.

That is so much under Accessibility.

The structure and findability is poor. Perhaps allowing certain controls to appear under more than one category would be helpful.

Agreed. The current macOS System Settings app is a nightmare. Can't find anything when you need it.

I also changed my mouse pointer the other day. Came to change it again today and couldn't find the option, so thank you for reminding me where it is!

If it weren't for accessibility needs they'd probably prefer no one change the cursor size at all.

anytime I need something in settings I use search. Only way how to find what I want.

Which is not illogical, because it is in the section for the visually-impaired.

It’s getting worse with every ‘major update’… They’re providing ‘nice new features’ but for doing so violate user conventions to make them happen. Very annoying.

KDE Plasma has great settings menu regarding visual customisation, putting macos (which should be called OSX🙃) and windows to shame.

I’ll never understand why they moved the default web browser setting to “Desktop & dock” settings.
