You read that right. 75% of scientists are considering leaving the US. Forgive me (not really) if I'm struggling to understand exactly how this is making the US anything other than diminished, stupid, and ill.

That is the point - we are expendable, disposable. And they will think we deserved it, because only the unworthy will be hurt by their actions. They think that getting rid of us will mean more for them.

yes but how wrong they are if they think they are immune. Diseases want hosts and if you have a body, you are vulnerable to cancer, Alzheimer's, measles, pick whichever. A sick body politic knows no boundaries. "Masque of the Red Death" should be required reading!
