Niche #LinuxAudio question: has anyone ever had any success getting the #Boss IR loader software to run on Bottles or Wine?

in reply to Chris Newton • • •Nobody I know has ***ever*** gotten any Windows audio software to run acceptably on Linux using Wine or any packaging of Wine. Your realistic options are
a) Find supported Linux software that does the same job, or
b) Pay the man, get a Windows license and run the software native on hardware.

In this case I would presume the problem is not related to the software, but letting the software getting access to the hardware through USB.

Specifically iZotope RX, Toontrack EZDrummer and EZMix. Everything else has a Linux build available, so I haven't needed to install a Windows version.

in reply to elsemusic • • •@elsemusic The only Windows audio software I've been able to even install with Wine is the Arturia software manager, which is just a license validation / download / install utility. The actual synthesizers - Pigments especially - either don't run at all, run slowly, or run with crappy graphics.
Pigments is an outstanding synthesizer but there's nothing it can do that can't be done by the open source Surge XT synth. 1/2
