Interesting to see that here in Spain they are rolling out #Bizum payments in some retail outlets. This would be a possible #EU alternative to the #VISA or #Mastercard US transaction monopoly, whether people will start using this or not remains to be seen..

Sounds good, but will they issue payment cards also? Otherwise, we'll be stuck in the US mobile platform monopoly anyway.

Well you still need a bank account and bank card to be able to use Bizum anyway and this is only Spain but one step at a time...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure mobile payments will only be possible using Android or iOS, plus the infra (at least for some of the EU payment platforms) is using AWS so there is still work to do...
