There's a patch of sidewalk that the city refuses to maintain, so there's been Japanese knotweed expanding for years.

For the last two years I have pulled every shoot when I walk by.

Goldenrod took over a small area after a friend planted some. Last year I spread tend of thousands of their seeds to winterize.

I seem to have won? Goldenrod plus weeding actually beat the worst invasive species around here!!! Without Roundup! Now it's a bee buffet!

Very well done! Now, the only issue is that goldenrod is considered invasive in some countries... but, hopefully not where you live 😊

@meraord yeah it seems questionable, it is native here but does dominate sometimes. I actually figure... what else would stand a chance of defeating the actually invasive knotweed? At least it provides food and habitat 😅.

Might regret later but not right now 🙂

Haha, yeah, don't think you have to worry over the goldenrod... it's definitly better than knotweed!
