An association of thousands of #FBI agents & other groups are backing a lawsuit filed by 3 bureau employees who were fired for their roles investigating #Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
A brief by the FBI Agents Assn is 1 of 5 filed by outside parties in the last week in support of the agents, who were terminated as part of a #purge by FBI Dir #KashPatel targeting employees who investigated #Trump or are perceived as being against the admin.

The briefs argue the firings were illegal because agents were denied #DueProcess & punished for perceived political affiliation, & the terminations contradict decades of expectations that the bureau’s “apolitical, professional career corps of agents” can work on sensitive cases w/o putting their careers at risk.
