Showing posts across the fediverse by language code

!Friendica Support

I was investigating the "Channel" feature, and I noticed a channel with the name "Dansk" (Danish). The query is friendica.dk/network?channel=l…

As far as I can see it gives me a list of posts across the #fediverse with a language specification matching my language settings in my profile. For another one of my accounts (with English specified) the channel is called "English".

Is it possible to create a query/URL (so, not a channel per se) that will give me posts based on a specific language code? So something like

friendica.dk/network?language=… (Danish ISO code)
friendica.dk/network?language=… (German ISO code)
friendica.dk/network?language=… (English ISO code)

You can simply create a user defined channel that is based on public posts where you then select the desired language.

Thank you 😊.

I see it now - my confusion was caused by an error in the translation of Friendica into Danish. The help text when defining a new channel said in Danish "Select languages that you do NOT want to see in the channel" ... which threw me a bit off.

I will look into it ... and I have already adjusted the translation file for messages.po in Danish πŸ‘

One more question:

Is it possible from the Instance to create a "common channel" this way?

So - if I am an instance admin, can I create a channel and have it pinned in the menu for all users of my instance - something like this:

That's currently not possible. You can create an issue at our repository, so that we don't forget about it. Technically it should be possible.
