Some people get replies and just do not engage at all....

Like, what is the point of posting to social media if you're not even gonna be SOCIAL?!?🤦‍♂️

Especially Fedi, cause it's not like we have some dumb ad service that pays you for views...You ain't making money here unless you're posting off-platform links to buy stuff.

I just don't get it. It's social media. Not "shout to the void and ignore everyone" media.🙄

I keep thinking about @ryanbroderick writing, that the #fediverse needs "its Gmail" for everyone to just use it and not think about, what they're using.
I do like that idea, but I'm unsure, what such a thing/app/platform would need to be. What do you think?

Should it be like a Web-App where you could use any account on #Mastodon etc.? Will it be yet another platform, that is just way easier to use?

What I'm asking is, how will people acces the fediverse, that are still not on #Mastodon?

It heartens me to see the #fediverse get increasing traction.

Mastodon still feels very fringe to me (I get little/no engagement to my posts on here vs. Twitter), but I haven't found any alternatives. News like this gives me hope!

After 9 months, I FINALLY follow enough people to have a "decent" Trending page with 6-7 posts!😅

It sucks that single user instances have to deal with this issue, but it's unfortunately how Mastodon decided to build the feature. It does leave me wondering though, if it could be changed to federate "Favorites" or, if it's too heavy on the servers, make it an option to turn on or off as wanted?

I don't know if it's possible, but I just know the Trending feature on single-user instances are almost completely useless most of the time.😩
