...and off he goes. Eldest child on his way to his first job ever.
A hedge in the front, mostly hiding the car behind it and a youngster on a bike behind that. There's a white house in the background. The youngster is waving goodbye as he cycles.

This is apparently the most difficult thing in the world. Bonus points for "almost"?

Well. The other day I had a discussion about this with my teenager: Why did they ban these things in Paris? it’s cute, environmentally friendly, cheap, etc. What’s not to like? Well, that’s why…
Haha, yes!
Also, they possibly also like their front teeth and thumbs just as they are. :D

Fel sort ju, det ska ju vara lakrits :P
Det fanns inga sådana i min frys. Jag har dock blivit belönad med "Dubbellakrits" glass-pinnar också. :)

Two weeks later.... .ZIP domains spotted in active phishing.

It was only a matter of time, tbh. No surprise here. It was inevitable. Just like Thanos.

The era of the TV has now reached our ttrpg roleplaying HQ.

Loving the new image upload functionality. Also that it can upload images from my computer clipboard is great, possibly should mention that somewhere too just as general information.

However, I do notice that when I try to upload a gif (with a couple of frames, so an animated gif then) it gets converted to a jpg. Is this the intended behavior? I would have thought that the regular web formats should have kept their file ending.

@𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗼𝗯 :𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮: 🇦🇹 ✅ Good pick of image. 😆

Still, strange. The image I uploaded undisputably is a gif on my computer harddrive, and it equally undisputably is a jpg in my Friendica photo library after having been uploaded. Hmm...

@𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗼𝗯 :𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮: 🇦🇹 ✅ I think I managed to upload the image on the link provided, from my phone. I haven’t tried any other image I have to admit (like a n00b) as it was from my desktop, and I simply don’t have a selection of animated gifs on there. I shall download some and try them too when I get home from work.

@Mathias Hellquist (Friendica) And there must be something with your instance...

here i uploaded this gif, and it stays a gif, as you can see...

Is it possible, that you have some magic installed... graphicsmagick oder imagemagick, which converts automatically gifs to jpg?

The new uploader does the same, as the original upload-function do. Uploading an image and waiting for the bb-code link, which gives friendica back.

@𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗼𝗯 :𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮: 🇦🇹 ✅ Should I, or should I not, have graphicsmagick/imagemagick installed? I can’t see any of them loaded in the PHP ini of my instance (which was a fresh install entirely set up with the instructions for Friendica, with the one exception of me never-ever using Apache and instead using nginx).

@Mathias Hellquist (Friendica) I believe @𝗝𝗮𝗸𝗼𝗯 :𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮: 🇦🇹 ✅ is right, if you only have GD installed, you may not have animated GIF support. Please install imagemagick which should add this support.

I seem to have both php7.4-fpm AND php8.2-fpm installed on the server, though my Friendica is using 7.4 (which is also the active one on a php -v). I think I need to uninstall 8.2 to start with, I am thinking it could cause confusion having both on there.

@Mathias Hellquist (Friendica)

This should not influence the other... except missing ressouces...

The serverconfig in nginx should only listen on one of both.

And are you sure, to stay on php7.4? It's outdated...

I’m not sure at all. I now recall installing php8 when I thought Friendica would switch to it, but then I saw that someone who was running Friendica on php8 was called ”crazy kid living on the edge” and a direct recommendation to stay on php7 ”for now”, and that is where we are. I would prefer running php8 as I don’t like running outdated things in general, but I was thinking things will break in Friendica if I do.

Testing to see where an uploaded image to #Friendica ends up if I also post it to #Tumblr via the bridge. I also got to test the new drop-to-upload image in Friendica, which is a great addition!
Didn't know drag-n-drop was an option, cool! What I'd like to see more'n that though, is the ability to add an image from clipboard.

@eshep

For the sake of testing I took a screenshot of your post (above) to clipboard, then clicked "Comment" and finally paste. It looks like that works too!

Seems I cannot, bummer. Must be an update TROM has not yet applied.
currently v2023.01 / db1502 / post1484
@eshep Yeah, I think it is new as of 2023.04
Figured as much, saw you'd just done an update on yers. Happy to hear it's been added to the base interface though! I really need quit bein lazy and spin up my own one'a these days.
The answer to "where the image went" I notice that a scaled down version is now hosted directly on Tumblr. It has the same size as the post-preview image in Friendica. Not the best route to go if you were to share high-res photos etc then, as they would get scaled down during transport. Still, good enough I think.

ignoring this post too
