One of the things I’m working on while doing the #30DayMapChallenge is creating a portfolio site for the maps I create. It’s pretty hard explaining everything when you’re constrained by a 500-character limit, and this provides me with the space to expound on my mapmaking process.

Also, I took this opportunity to finally play around with @eleventy as a static-site generator, something that I mentioned last month: en.osm.town/@seav/113322416132…

#30DayMapChallenge Day 2 - lines

These are like contour lines... but it is not showing the terrain. It is a geoid model displayed in #QGIS using "contour lines" (2 m interval).

You may recognize some geographies, but don't be fooled ;) it is just because gravity changes faster at some coastlines.

Day 1 of #30DayMapChallenge - I actually reused code from day 1 of #genuary for this :) As ever, done in my newbie style of #ocaml. The theme was points, so I just looked at some interesting datasets and made a quick tool to let me throw GeoJSON point data on sphere.

In this instance I'm displaying a GeoJSON of lighthouse locations from Kaggle - the video is a bit pants, as point sources don't scale down so well, but I have plans for later in the month to hopefully make it better.

Is this really a map? Not sure it counts, but the fun with things like this is I can interpret the challenge however makes me happy :)
