The agreement the #DOJ made with #Trump to settle his lawsuit against the #IRS includes a provision BARRING the agency from pursuing #tax claims against Trump, his family or his businesses. The new provision was released a day after DOJ agreed to settle Trump’s lawsuit by creating a $1.8 billion compensation fund for people *he believes* were wronged by federal investigations or prosecutions.
Ending his #IRS lawsuit could allow #Trump to pursue a #settlement instead [he’d likely lose the lawsuit, he might get $$ from a settlement].
Trump moved on Monday to dismiss his extraordinary $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS that claimed the tax agency had improperly released some of his financial records [records he had promised to release himself].
