Just reading this error message throws up so many potential causes for me to check and debug and try so it gets fixed that I'm *exhausted*.

A warning error message from macOS Ventura, a yellow exclamation mark at the top. There is an OK button at the bottom. It reads This computer's local hostname "shortfall-996.local" is already in use on this network. The name has been changed to "shortfall-1287.local". lo change the local hostname, open System Settings, go to General, Sharing, then click "Edit" and type the name in the "Local Hostname" field.
