@pluralistic described the process of creeping deterioration of products & services by large corporations and coined the term "enshitification". I guess, this is also what we are seeing at Google right now.
One aspect is the marginalization of organic search results. For a search, I saw 5 elements at the top:
- Shopping ads
- Images
- Shopping results
- Product websites
- People also ask
That's a lot of SERP real estate to pass before reaching the first blue link π§
When I called them out on Linkedin, they deleted my comment.
Since they also claimed I am an #SEO expert, then letβs make that part of their BS come true.
