A few components soldered to 3.5mm jacks and held together with heat shrink tubing make for useful eurorack modular gadgets. A signal monitor with a bipolar red/green LED, an inline attenuator and a gate/vactrol VCA.
Take no space in the rack but add a good bit of functionality. I also have 2 channel mixers and some diode logic gates, a distortion, and some light sensitive attenuator in the same format. Perfect for the lunchbox modular

I enjoyed an hour and a half or so with the #ModularSynth just now. I really should spend more time "practising". Though the methodology and objective(s) are quite different than with guitar, just the same, mastery means consistent, concentrated effort.
I created a modulargrid layout of my micro system 100m clone #modular. "Micro 190.5" because it is somewhat in between a Roland 190 & 191J. Technically, I will have to create a 22U version version of the 305
