Our dahlia plants are still putting on a show.
Slight neglect hasn't slowed them down.
It gives me great joy to see beautiful happenings that aren't hindered by negative outside events.
The spectacular blossoms push back against all that would tear us down by continuing to spread the pure joy that comes from witnessing almost impossibly intricate beauty.
Summer and I say we will choose joy today and the flowers will provide a visibly warm welcome home to my husband.

I had access to an abundance of new to me dahlia tubers this year.
The wait for them to open up is often long.
This one is called Terracotta and it has been teasing a flower for weeks. It is big and beautiful and worth the wait.
