My reflection in the saltwater of the North Sea. Or perhaps more like my shadow-reflection. Equally unreal, whether shadow or the 'original.' Both are frozen light through the camera, digitized, altered, turned back into light, chemically processed in the retina into signals, made available to the brain and its neurons for interpretation, and in turn, this produces thoughts and feelings... Mind-blowing!

Under normal, fog-free circumstances, I have to find the subjects within the chaos and pull them out from it.. With fog, it’s somehow the opposite—at first, there’s nothing, not even chaos. The subjects emerge from nothing, like thoughts. Sometimes they’re interesting, sometimes they’re not. And with patience, everything changes again—subjects disappear, others appear. Individual elements that shape the landscape present themselves and then conceal themselves again. It’s wonderful to rediscover such a familiar landscape anew.
