When footpaths collide...
My path carried me over the top of the pass visible as the low point in the first photograph.
The goat's fainter path carried it down along that rocky spine and up the other side.
It was lunch time, so I paused at the top to take it all in. And eventually to get glared at by a goat that was very upset to find this strange creature along its route.

A rocky ridge with a few yellow flowers and a slight track along its edge. Pausing on a higher rock along that track is a goat covered in thick white hair, staring back at the camera.
Overlooking Snowmass Lake A large lake far below the viewer on the right has steep mountains rising to the left and beyond. A trail winds a flat way across this steep slope. A few puffs of cloud occupy half the otherwise blue sky.
Goat glare! Close up of the goat, which looks rather powerful, as it carefully passes. Behind it, the start of trail in the second image heads off.
Very distinct dirt path through green covered flat area with a pond in the middle. Scattered trees (conifers) of a perfect tall triangle shape cluster on a gentle slope rising left of the pond. In the distance, a much steeper slope rises, leaving the green behind. It is studded with exposed rock outcrops among loose rock slopes.
