Gentle reminder that Italian label Heavy Psyche Sounds are reissuing some long hard-to-get Spirit Caravan releases. I think these are some of the best doom records ever made tbh with a unique almost lazy melodic heavy sound. The riffs are always front and center.
Particularly love Cosmic Artifact on this one.

#NowPlaying… It's been 32 years since its release. Wild! This is still my favorite album by the Brand New Heavies. It got tagged as "Acid Jazz" at the time, but in hindsight it sounds more like a slightly domesticated funk. The lovely ms. N'Dea Davenport is bringing max energy here.
I also discovered that the 30-year anniversary re-master totally destroys track 4, "Midnight at the Oasis", so if you have an option to choose, stick with the 1994 master.
