Himalayan blue poppy, Tibetan blue poppy (Meconopsis). Endemic to the Himalayas, including parts of Tibet, southwestern China, Myanmar, and Bhutan. They achieve that striking color through an internal pH balance within its petals that interacts with co-pigments, turning what would normally be a purple anthocyanin pigment into a vivid sky blue. #flowers #nature #biology #chemistry #plants #photo #science
