Smurfs Log: Lucky

* Not only was I lucky enough to see a stoat up close today (see previous post), but this afternoon I finally found some of those tiny, fluffy, woolly creatures other people have been spotting. This one was kind enough to bring her two little lambs with her, too.

🌲✨ When the water is so clear that it reflects the world, your mind just hits pause.
When was the last time you visited a place of peace like this?

This is one of my favourite images I've ever taken - a pivotal moment in how I saw my images, and a moment that marked a moment of progression in my journey in the #Art of #Photography

I took it while balanced on the edge of a cliff, capturing what was a gloomy canyon scene before we were blown away as the sun cut through the overcast skies. Illuminating the mist and the damp foliage below.

Fog frightened our ancestors as they didn't know what could be lurking in the depths of it. But now scientists have found that fog is alive- alive with bacteria. Bacteria that are growing. However they help to break down pollutants in the air. A study found that they swiftly broke down formaldehyde probably for self preservation, but good news for us too. sciencealert.com/fog-is-teemin…

A rarely seen bird in our garden: a Baltimore Oriole. He tried to get some syrup, clinging upside down to the hummingbird feeder, with limited success. Don't have an orange in the house 😢.
He looks judgmental!

#WesternTrillium.
This is an older Western trillium, in urban forest. They're usually all white. As they get older(takes many years), you'll see shades of pink & purple petals.
Please never disturb Western trilliums in the wild. They are extremely sensitive native plants & need to be left alone to visually admire. Western trillium takes up to 15 years to flower. Once it has been picked/heavily disturbed, it dies. Please leave them growing 🙏

There's something magical about a walk in light rain; a sense of intimacy, a note of vulnerability.

Sharing a couple small discoveries from today. Stay safe.
