A little over a year ago, I saw a screen shot of tweet by Dr. Ward Q. Normal that says “My new hobby is taking graphs of economic data over time and indicating the year that Ronald Reagan was inaugurated, in case people find that helpful or informative.”
Seemed fun, so I also decided to take up the hobby. To date, I have created 10 graphs, shown in following thread.
Note to those who’d like to defend the Shit Stain on the American Economic and Social Justice Landscape known as Ronald Reagan: I do not claim 100% cause and effect. It is my opinion that these graphs show the only things that “trickled down” from Reagan’s sadistic deregulation regime and tax-cuts-for-the-wealthy agenda were obscene income inequality, decreased life expectancy, monopolies, and wage stagnation.
The vast majority of Americans are still slipping and falling on the steaming pile that is Ronald Reagan’s traitorous legacy.

US Pay Rose With Productivity, And Then It Didn’t
Yes, this trend started in the 1970s, but Ronald Reagan catalyzed a steeper divergence between US worker productivity and wages that lingers today.
