I searched on a #mastodon forum for answers to my question " #NoBot no longer works, what current hashtag prevents s bots from following accounts?" and do not yet have an answer.
Thus I ask the #fediverse: what can users do with their profiles to repel bot-follows?

in reply to C Ya β π¨π¦ (alt account) • • •No hashtag will. That's a voluntary convention. Good bots wonβt index, follow, or reshare, bad bots will. It's like robots.txt, only even more annoying.
Follows don't hurt you, per se. If content indexing or reshares annoy you, then you have fine grained control over how to manage those (post as followers only, require approval, for example). But your stuff being seen, thatβs an inherent function of the Fediverse/AP that itβs presumed public and good servers, systems, and bot will yield to your stated otherwise.
