Any #Linux #musiciansofmastodon out there? What software are you using? Hardware? I’m looking to get started. I have extensive (10+ years) experience in Apple Logic Pro but little experience in Ableton and FLStudio so if that helps with your suggestions, cool, if not, cool. Thanks!

I use:
* REAPER, the Linux version. That said, the windows version works fairly well under Wine, and may simplify plugin setup
* yabridge, a program that uses Wine to allow Windows VSTs to run in Linux DAWs
* Ubuntu Studio installer + pipewire config, so the reaper jack support works
* Scarlett Solo, the famous metalcore audio interface
* Spitfire LABS under yabridge, they offer plenty of instruments i use on my music. Sadly they just released a huge update that broke Wine.

Ardour and Reaper are going to be closer to your Logic experience than Bitwig, LMMS and various others. Ardour originally took a lot of inspiration from ProTools and Logic, but in recent years we've been adding more Ableton-inspired features.

I'm using reaper, but #ardour @ardour is good too. If you're more into electronic music, then LMMS is good for you and I've heard about #zrythm @zrythm which is the new kid in the bloc. Haven't used it yet. There's loads of plugins. If I remember I send the link to some page with basically all of them tomorrow. Can't find it right now.
For paid ones I usually go with AudioAssault, U-HE and TAL.
The best free ones are x42, LSP and Vital(ium)
