can't help but wish it wasn't labeled with a company's trademarked name...especially Eugen's...🤦‍♂️

@BeAware Yeah, I would much prefer if folks addressed/referred to all of the fediverse.

BeAware :veriweed: reshared this.

And that it wasn't a link to ActBlue, the scummy spammy org
in reply to Jacob Torrey

@jacob @BeAware I don't think I know much about that. They definitely seem pretty widely used.
in reply to Stefan Bohacek

@jacob they give your contact information to a WIDE number of Dem candidates who will proceed to text and email spam you about donations.

Also, it was reported that they don't ask for CVV for credit card payments. I can't confirm cause I haven't donated due to the perceived risks.😬

in reply to BeAware :veriweed:

@BeAware @jacob Ah, is that right? I mean I know phone numbers seem to get passed around after you donate to one or two campaigns, I just didn't know it was them specifically doing that. Well that stinks.
in reply to Stefan Bohacek

Yeah, a single donation and I was playing whack-a-mole for endless appeals for random races in other states I've never heard of. You can unsubscribe to each campaign, but your email is still being shared with others. Check out the complaints about spam: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/actblue.com
