Stop legitimising Mozilla.
They’re sucking all the oxygen out of the room.
“We’re just another Silicon Valley tech company.” – their then head of public policy to me
“When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” – Maya Angelou
(Or in this case the second, third, fourth… what are we on? I’ve lost count.)

At a #Mozilla event in #Brussels this morning about "#privacy-first online #advertising". I am _very_ curious where this weirdest of things Mozilla does is going. 🤔 Speakers: Petra Wikström, policy person at #Schibsted, @rvaneijk@mastodon.EUpolicy.social - A Mastodon server for the EU bubble

yes *but* chromium is still owned and controlled by Google. And can die overnight if Alphabet turns off the tap.
Firefox is really bad and misdirected, but it's still our last resort.
And to answer to @aral it's A bit like here in France, we have a very bad and misconducted political party on the left, but it's unfortunately the only one to exist politically against the capitalist right.
What we need in both case is more grassroot pressure to force them to do better.

But I don't think we should throw the baby out with the bathwater. Only technical emancipation from megacorporations and GAFAM will save us. And Mozilla *should* be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem.
