Way way way way way too late. Why wasn't this happening in 2021?
Why was someone who incited a violent far right coup allowed to go unpunished? Why was the same person actually convicted of other serious crimes not sentenced? Why was the same person allowed to stand for public office?
If violent extremist coups are effectively legal now in the US, how can the US call itself a democracy? Future pro-violence candidates who lose elections will try their luck with a violent coup, safe in the knowledge that they have nothing to lose and they will be able to stand again at the next elections.

Trump himself famously said in 2016 that he could shoot someone and wouldn't lose votes. Well, going by recent decisions it seems this is the literal truth now. He would face no consequences of any kind if he murdered someone. That's not hyperbole, that's the current situation as ruled by the supreme court.
The US constitution is worthless if it has no enforceable mechanism for dealing with this.
