so #Google isn't even interested in scraping the web. they just want to sell the opportunity to write misinformation and propaganda for #aislopped search to the highest bidders.
eons ago, when i explained what SEO is to a non-techie friend they looked at me puzzled and said it sounded like a scam; that people were basically giving free labor to Google for the chance of a high ranking they could completely upend without explanation.
yup. #SEO has always been a #scam.
