The service is in beta and has only been in production for a few days. I will publish the code under AGPL very soon, as I do for all my projects :)

Users enter their city name and it is checked against OpenStreetMap. If the place has few inhabitants, the app offers a larger town nearby instead. GPS is never used.

#FediHood warns you if you pick a small town and suggests the nearest larger one. It is a privacy measure, since few people share a small place, but you can ignore the suggestion and keep your choice.
