ICYMI: this weekend @Cris_Color posted on #Lemmy: "The best thing you can do for the fediverse is just be kind"

An excerpt:
"The fediverse is small, and that's both a blessing and a curse - one of its several blessings is that in a smaller space we all individually have a bigger impact on what the culture of this space is like."

I highly encourage you to read the full post - it's brilliant. Thank you Cris! ❤️

Wishing you all a great day & week!

Yes!!! I wish people would consider this before "reply guy behavior".

It's really shitty to put out a passionate post out there for someone to whatabout or bring up some 20 year old minor gripe.

Like I'm sorry your candidate lost the dem primary several years ago but I'm a trans woman trying to live in America I need democrats to win elections. Real reply guy I got

@TheZeldaZone sending you all my support - it must be super hard to be there right now. (I’ve started donating to Trans Lifeline post-election.)

Big virtual hug from France

Periodically I ask myself if the fediverse or any social media is a net good on balance and if I should be supporting it or a part of it. It seems to promote mob behavior and group think sometimes and this seems primed for manipulation. The very nature of social media as a popularity contest (boosts) makes this almost inevitable.
