So after a lifetime of commercial social media services, it's refreshing to find that Mastodon supports audio files. You can just post a .wav or .mp3 or whatever, without having to turn it into a wasteful heavy video clip first. Nice.

Is this a general #Fediverse thing though? If I post audio clips, will people be able to hear them on other services?

One of the things about being on a single-user #fediverse instance is that outside of the posts from those you follow, no other posts come into the instance.

On #Mastodon, I could add relays tracking specific hashtags (like #StarWars or #StarTrek) using https://relay.fedi.buzz.

On #GoToSocial, there's no way to add relays (yet). But, there is a way to follow hashtags via relay.fedi.buzz. To do this just search for users on relay.fedi.buz with the hashtag in the username. For example the user for #StarWars is:

Will #TikTok get banned? Will it get bought? Who will buy it? Will that acquisition even be allowed by the FTC? I would not put it past #Elon Musk to make an attempt here. Like, what is the point of posting to social media if you're not even gonna be SOCIAL?!?🤦‍♂️

Especially Fedi, cause it's not like we have some dumb ad service that pays you for views...You ain't making money here unless you're posting off-platform links to buy stuff.
