A rare personal post: our family recently adopted a rescue dog, a 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier/Chihuahua mix (Chorkie). She was found as a stray near Sacramento in early December, and the shelter named her Penny. Penny is deaf, has cataracts, and had to have all her teeth removed because they were in very bad shape. She also has the energy of a puppy, is very adorable, and likes belly rubs and treats. We aim to spoil her rotten.

@lisamelton She is that! She still has some problems left over from living on the streets, but she’s adapting remarkably well to being in a family again. She was already microchipped so she did have a family at some point before she was a stray.
