#FediHood is now available!

Talk with people near you. A local chat on the #Fediverse where you share only your city, never your exact location. You adjust your timeline with distance and topic filters.

It's in early beta and web only for now. It connects to the whole Fediverse, and you can send #E2EE DMs between FediHood and Holos users. The source code will be published soon. Don't hesitate to share!

Looks good. I do have a problem loading the map. Perhaps it doesn't like the Mull browser on android?

Yes, after enabling WebGL it works.
There is however supposedly a way to enable WebGL only for specific websites: gitlab.com/ironfox-oss/IronFox…

I haven't got that working yet though.

Unfortunately it doesn't work properly with Trunks or at all with Pachli, which is a pity as I'm unlikely to use it on a regular basis via a browser.

It's still in beta. I added a Mastodon-compatible API so existing apps can connect, but that only gets you the generic parts. What makes FediHood worth using, nearby posts by city and topic channels, has no equivalent in the Mastodon API. An app that does not implement it will work, but it misses the point of the project. That part needs contributions from app developers.

Follow doesn't seem to work properly via a web browser. I tried several times to follow "clickhere" but each time I go back to their profile, the button says "Follow" again and my profile shows no followers.

I've managed to follow my fedihood.social account from this and my mastodon.ie accounts but when I go to them in my fedihood.social account (in the browser), there doesn't seem to be any way to follow back.

Fedilab will support it on Android, and I saw that @fedicat was doing some integration for iOS.
