Here is a fun one, or at least one with more effort put into it than your average coin. @MAJ1 lamented that his coins were unremarkable, and it prompted me to pull this one out. What you see everyday which may seem unremarkable, might be wondrous and new to someone else, so here's a new take on an old threepence from #Britain / #UK: https://coinofnote.com/1936-uk-painted-threepence/

@FediThing They are! I know not everyone likes painted coins, but it definitely highlights details and gives you a different perspective on the coin :)

It's a little bit like classical statues in ancient Rome and Greece, sort of ๐Ÿ˜

Current thinking is ancient statues were painted in bright colours that faded away, but we're so used to seeing them blank that it seems weird to see the reconstructed originals.

@FediThing Very true! Like the Terracotta Warriors as well. Even with coins, I am used to seeing say Ancient Roman coins like the image here (or worse - random image off Google for context) - but imagine back in Ancient Rome, they'd have probably looked at you very warily for paying with such dirty coins - as you'd get a second look if you paid today with modern coins in really poor condition.
