I wonder how well RSS would hold up given widespread abuse by automated scrapers.

Would be great if you link your blog RSS feed in your main page (with <link rel="alternate"> tag) so easy feed auto discovery is possible.

Over the last 20 years, I have read over and over, how great this RSS thing is

so every 5 years I try to install some software

and it has NEVER WORKED FOR ME THE AVERAGE USER
NEVER

so what you mean't to say is that RSS is the secret trick available only to nerds to make the internet more usable

in reply to Electronic Frontier Foundation

must be ironic that your own RSS feed hasn’t worked in a long time. NetNewsWire and Lire both can’t catch it even from the direct link you provide lmao

Sadly, fewer and fewer sites are implementing a RSS feed. I suspect this is because it allows people to bypass ads. For me, it just means I only visit a site occasionally to poke around then leave.

Too many news sites now refuse to publish an RSS feed. It's becoming less and less useful as an aggregator.

It's great. RSSHub's twitter support lets me still follow my fav artists without ever having to use that trashpile of a site.

Anyone know of any good #RSS clients for #Android? I've searched the store a few times and everything I've found so far is kinda crappy.

I switched to RSS several years after the shittification of Google News and haven’t looked back.

There’s just something about having a curated list of news sources, created by me for me.

Unfortunately, I’ve noticed a few sites from my list dropping RSS support over the years. ☹️
