Governments should host their own social platforms 🤷‍♂️

This shows a more clear way for information and also a more trusted source

The only way this can be done fully is with #Fediverse software

Some great examples are the Netherlands and Germany 👏

And I would more than happily do that work for my government and my neighbors if it paid a comfortable wage, had decent healthcare, and weren't run by crazypants nazis.

More and more politicians are shifting their communication entirely to social media. For example, on X, where an incredible shitstorm is being created. Instead of getting information from government websites, people have to wade through social media, sign up for accounts, and give up their privacy. There should be a requirement to publish the same information on some kind of government news aggregator—just the statements from politicians, institutions, etc., without worthless comments.

- The german one is hosted by the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI) aka german privacy chief and informs about security incidents, too.. 👍
