I love seeing the production high, but at the same time I'm always thinking how many gas, coal etc. power plants they have to keep as backup power because they don't invest enough into storage.

I often wonder how much energy etc. is lost from turning those plants on and off.

Hopefully the majority of countries will heavily invest into the grid and storage ASAP :))

@madeindex There are still problems, for example the largest biomass plant (classed as renewable!) imports wood chips from Canada, which to me is not a sustainable way of producing electricity.

True, probably even less so than coal! Imagine cutting a living, breathing tree instead of using super compressed wood and bringing it from far away and calling it "green" energy 😜
