I have seen priests exposed for having consensual relationships with adult men being punished more by the Catholic Church than parents who abused children, both boys and girls. In fact, cases of pedophilia are often discovered and the priests are simply transferred to another parish. I'm not saying this happens in all churches. But this is a double standard and a form of noticeable discrimination in the treatment of priests who have a sexual orientation other than heterosexual. I'm not saying that in either case the attitudes are correct, but the punishment for breaking celibacy when dealing with a gay man is seen as more serious than the crime of child abuse! This is absurd.
