I kind of do it? I have a pickle ornament on my tree although finding it is never a big deal, and my family had one when I was growing up…but I think it was because I studied German in school (in the US upper Midwest) and I learned about it there.

@amanda I'm on the East Coast. We did it as kids because my parents did it when they were kids.
