in reply to Tuta • • •the elephant in the room is that the 2 major search providers (Microsoft’s Bing and Google’s Search) are also the 2 dominant players in the AI/LLM landscape.
They have serious motivation to enshittify regular search in favor of lame, abstracting, diffuse, polluting LLM’s with big subscription premiums and large ecological footprint.
These companies should be forced to be cut into separate Search and AI/LLM entities (and a lot of other autonomous entities, while we are at it)
