What is the best way to archive IMAP emails? I'm getting close to my hosting company's maximum size and I've cleaned up old mailboxes.

I have been copying it locally via Thunderbird on one PC but not deleting them from the server. I was not sure if there was another safer and better way to do it before I delete everything on my hosting provider’s server.

I really appreciate Thunderbird's team, and these updates are going to finally put it into the running with other modern offerings. I migrated to using it as my daily driver for email management a few years ago, and I'm glad I did, but I'm also so excited to be looking at desktop improvements and an android app.

I was recently called by my support via Microsoft Teams because I had to enter some passwords. The support team proudly said that they were contacting me via Teams because it was more secure than the normal phone. He was then very surprised when I told him that Teams is unencrypted and can be intercepted much more easily.
