Aaron's "crime" was to oppose enclosure and socialise knowledge, where #Meta aims to enclose knowledge in order to enrich billionaires.

Aaron died because he was anti capitalist, and America kills people who oppose #capitalism.

America opposes freedom.

Laws were never meant for the wealthy. We kept getting shown that but we expect it to be different.

this is so infuriating
In Two Ways

first:
yes, it may be that technically A Swartz faced 35 years in

but in the real world, no, that would never have happened
not even close

and it is so fucking infuritating that I Have to explain this over and over and over

second:
I don't know that a court has ruled that what Meta has done is illegal; that doesn't seem to have happend

in reply to stux⚡️

Yeah. Never. Never forgetting this one.
Always ridiculous what they're able to get away with.

I first met Aaron on the RSS-Dev group. Yahoo killed the archive, but some of it is still online at archive.org.
Let's go back to the beginning, 26 years ago, on August 14th, 2000.

Rael Dornfest makes the initial post.
Aaron makes the 2nd, in ways that seem prescient.
Aaron was 13 at the time. 3 mo. before his 14th birthday...
Thanks, Aaron!

Aaron wasn’t a billionaire capitalist. Of course our government would go after him.

We'll never forget you Aaron 💖.

Every code repo I create, I usually put Co-author as Aaron Schwartz.
