I follow getonepass.eu on LinkedIn as it is the main gateway for EU funding. Every Research EU fund gets posted there now.
Just saw a comment from the account, praising a LinkedIn post about AI tools to help startups raise funding. They are going to add those GPT details to their startup tool kit.
When I talk about the EU focusing on creating Unicorns and chasing hype this is what I mean.
Shouldn't we be better than this? Shouldn't we not be using tools with built in bias?

There's a chat bot for that .

We're probably all going to have to sign up if we can't get #NGI Cascade funding to continue.
I know I prefer NLNets way of doing things. Not this nightmare of trying to ape the worst of silicon valley to create unicorns.
It's the last month to sign the NGI open letter created by @ps . If you're part of a #FOSS project in the EU consider signing.

But I think it's folks who believe code can solve everything. Who prefer the status quo and to not examine the power dynamics.
Or to apparently ask others for help.
They've never been taught about the social contract, or if they have, it's purely to reject it.
Rugged individualism.
Also "eww cooties"

Are they thinking LLM actually comes up with this by itself? Have they not seen what happens when it isn't given human-made training data?
They are sawing the branch they are sitting on if they discourage people from writing stuff, do they not realise this?

in reply to FediThing π³οΈβπ • • •nope, because as far as I can tell they want to believe in the magic snake oil.
Plus I'm fairly sure the folks running the onepass LinkedIn account is an intern and just following the company culture. As an org FundingBox is very much focused on Blockchain and start-up ethos.
I think they think they are doing great things and changing the world.
Having been around that kind of culture, it's kinda shallow "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain stuff."

So, they want to protect the status quo, but they are encouraging unsustainable ways of doing things which will inevitably destroy the status quo (and in a really bad way that hurts everyone, not in a positive reforming way).

It's so disturbing that public funds are thinking this needs to be emulated.

The products rarely make, or have potential to make, as much as a favourable exit. An unfavourable one has the same consequences as it would going bankrupt selling stuff. The incentive is in the system.

Unknown parent • • •@aral I think it's the results of the last 50 years of political choices.
But also I blame Richard the Second and Wat Tyler's followers who chose to stop their revolt and believe the lying grifter king.
But it's folks preferring the status quo, who choose not to question power, or the systems that are being put in place, another form of power, backing up Centuries of white supremacy. To create neo feudalism.
