I am once again asking people who run websites to have a dedicated "About" page that says what their website actually does in concise plain language without any marketing hype or long personal histories.

This is getting rarer and rarer, and it's often impossible to know if a website is a news site, personal blog, press release aggregator, charity initiative, commercial PR, AI slop or whatever.

It would take you just a few seconds to write and it would get you lots of potential links, follows and recommendations.

Received! My co-worker and I, will try to split the page into two. One with short, precise info, and one with longer.

@elettrona

Even having a page at all is brilliant! 👏

So many sites give no clue whatsoever even when they're obviously made with care.

Ours is plusbrothers.net/english/about - we have written it in longest form because some ironic and auto-ironic contents are very often misunderstood such as a sort of "propaganda" in favor of careless behaviours (NEVER our intentions!)

Is this OK? thebeautifulprison.com/about/

I have, to no avail, been pushing for the same kind of thing on about plages for commercial sites, because most of them don't say very much, but what they're really about, they're just advertising. And to me, that is worthless.
